On July 18, Ningxia Kingho Coal Chemical Group and Jiuquan Iron & Steel Group sign a strategic cooperation agreement. Mayor Wu Yucai attended the signing ceremony and made a speech. Deputy mayor Li Xuewen also attended the ceremony.
Established in 1958, Jiuquan Iron & Steel Group is the key construction project of China during the period of first fifth year plan and the most earlier modern enterprise group with the largest scale and characterized by diversified development. It has three steel production bases, including Jiayu Gate headquarters, Yuzhong (Lanzhou) and Yicheng (Shanxi), with annual steel output of 10 million tons (including stainless steel of 1 million tons), and its main technical equipment level has ranked top in the country. In 2010, it ranked 155 among Top 500 industrial enterprises in China and 70 among Top 500 manufacturing enterprises in China.
Ningxia Kingho Group owns 1.8 billion tons of coal. In Phase I, the coke oven system with annual output of 1,100,000t has reached the advanced technical level and the quality management has passed ISO9001 system certification. Weier Coal Mine, Hedougou Coal Mine, 1,100,000t Coking Project of Phase II and 500,000t Methanol-to-arene Project are under construction and will be put into operation by the end of this year or next year.
Guo Jinghua, general manager of Ningxia Kingho Group, and Liu Anmin, manager of Jiuquan Iron & Steel Group Yuzhong Steel Plant signed the Agreement.
Wu said in its address that, Taiyangshan Development Area had continuously quickened the pace of new industrialization through enhanced implementation of project influence strategy; some featured industries including coal chemistry, new energy, new materials and equipment manufacture, etc. had taken into initial shape and some backbone enterprises had been growing fast; Kingho Group, as the first large-scale modern coal chemical enterprise introduced in the city, had created a "Kingho speed "with a 1,000,000t coal coking project and made great contributions to the regional economic development of Taiyangshan; The execution of strategic cooperation agreement between Kingho Group and Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group was a choice of both parties on the basis of mutual trust, favor and benefits and focusing on development strategy, marking both parties' cooperation entering into a new stage and even higher level. He hoped that both parties would take this opportunity to expand development space, increase development momentum, carry out extensive in-depth cooperation and establish more complete and longer strategic cooperation relations. Meanwhile, he pointed out that Taiyangshan Development Area should build up service ideas firmly, coordinate services in the whole process in an all-round way and timely solve the issues and difficulties faced in the production management by the enterprise.
At the conclusion of the signing ceremony, Wu met Jiang Zhixiang, deputy general manager of Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group, and talked with the responsible personnel from both parties on cooperation. Li Xuewen joined in the meeting.
